The "Award-Winning" Bitboard Staff...

Hello to my Bitboard Family!!

My name is Erica DeLong...sometimes called CJ, Miss America, Dingbat....whatever, I answer to all (well...almost all).

I'm 26 (an old lady) originally from North Carolina and Lisa snagged me in 2004 to move to NYC and work in the "big city with all them flashy lights".  So I packed my bags and off I went. I got my start in radio when I was a sophomore in college working with some of the finest...Bob Dumas, Madison Lane, Tommy Owen and Tool at G105 WDCG in Raleigh.

I fell in love with radio instantly and was fortunate enough to get a job with Bitboard directly after graduating college.  While in NY, I teamed up with JV and Elvis at Howard Stern's old studio...the old K-ROCK.  I was their guest booker and girl constantly being made fun of.  I loved it, up until the part where they were fired the same week as Don Imus!  But ... that's the biz and that's why we love it.

Now I'm working with Chad Mitchell in Detroit WDTW as his Executive Producer/Sidekick and yes I'm still with Bitboard and claim Radio City as my office.  I am really blessed to be surrounded by such talented individuals.  Lisa is like my "sister" and then of course there is "aunt Philip" and "uncle Harmon".  We truly are a family...and that's what makes Bitboard so special (no I'm not getting a bonus for saying this). I can honestly say that some of my best friendships were developed right here at Bitboard.

I haven't won awards like Harmon, but I was Homecoming Queen in High School and was once the Whistling Champion of North Carolina!

Please feel free to contact me anytime if you ever need a contact or just a drinking buddy. I'm available free of charge for both! XOXO, Erica edelong@premiereradio.com

And of course you know...

Hey y’all…

Welcome to Bitboard!  We hope you decide to join our radio family...and it truly is a great family of friends.

I'm celebrating over 15 years with Bitboard and I love this job now more than ever.  It's a nice feeling to be able to say that I still love coming to work every day.

I got my start dealing with radio talent in 1987 when Don Anthony, at Talentmaster’s, rescued me from long hours as a restaurant manager to help him begin a little conference he called Morning Show Boot Camp.   It was at Boot Camp where I met Kidd Kraddick and his producer, JB Hager who were starting up Bitboard; as well as many of you who eventually became Bitboard members.  Although I thankfully wasn’t living in Dallas when they began Bitboard in their underwear; I joined them shortly afterwards when they could once again afford clothing.

I’ve seen many changes on Bitboard over the years; but, the two things that remain constant are our incredible members and the fact that Philip, Harmon, Erica and I all really want to see our members succeed and we'll do whatever possible to make that happen.  My favorite thing about the service is that I’ve seen people that didn’t know each other form wonderful, caring friendships by sharing their lives each week through their reports and meeting each year at Bitboard’s conference-BFD, Boot Camp, CMA’s and other gatherings.

If you ever need anything, know that you can call us day or night and we’ll be around to help you.  When I lived in Wichita, it was because I had nothing better to do and now that I'm living in No. California country, I have plenty to do, but want nothing more than to really help you out.

Oh...and if you're ever in Mendocino, Sonoma or Napa, please come visit and get a tour of the Bitboard office...and maybe some wine...during non working hours, of course!

I haven't won awards like Harmon, but I do have a nice trophy from some softball tournament when I was 29, a bowling trophy for high game when I was 8, many ribbons, lots of girl scout badges and I could be in listed in several editions of Who's Who if I would just send in a check

.

Have a great show!

Howdy peoples..

I'm Philip, the "jack-of-all-trades" around here.  Currently I'm bringing you Daily Dose every Sunday thru Thursday evening.  Hopefully in doing so, I save your folks hours of combing the net to find all the latest entertainment news, gossip, odd-ball news, and special interest stories that will get your phones ringing.  I'm also the webmaster of this site, and fill in editing the prep for Erica when she's out (as that was my job for the first 8 years).

I teamed up with Kidd Kraddick and Lisa Mulcahy WAY back in 1995 to bring BitBoard to the internet rather than the message board service it was.  Krafty Kraddick (as I will refer to him) first lured me in by my winning a contest to do the site for his morning show.  The prize?  A T-Shirt!!  How stupid was I back in those days???  And to top that, I never even got the T-Shirt!!!  Anyway, I guess he liked me, and he showed me the world of BitBoard after about a year (had to figure out if I was a stalker or something).  He asked "Would you like to do this?"  I said "Absof*ckinlutely!  But not for the $3.18 per hour you're wanting to pay!!"  LOL!  But I caved in and took it... And once I met all of you at BFD, I was hooked.

Sure, working at home is a plus as I don't have to shower or dress and my commute is just a few steps, but what's kept me with this job is all of you.  I know it's a tired expression - but I really do feel like we are all just one big happy-wacky family.

I'm in the process of relocating to sunny Florida (no cracks about my age... and yes... I'll get senior citizen discounts)

I haven't won awards like Harmon, but I did win the "Best Legs" Award from my Gay Bowling League back in 1992.

I went to college to become a Recording Engineer. "I wanted to produce the next J. Geils Band or Styx. That was because after many years I realized I had no talent singing...or playing an instrument. Then, I started hanging with my College radio crowd. That was too much fun! Former WABC Engineer and Producer LeRoy Aiken <Now, Mayor of Glens Falls>was their Professor and they were always laughing. I changed majors, watched my mom and dad have a fit over it...and here I am in Radio all these years later..

WIPS Ticonderoga was the first station to let me host their morning show. My first benchmark: at 7 AM the company cattle would slowly plod onto the field where the station was located to graze the back 40.". I would open the studio door to the LOUD sound of MOOOOOO and on air give the Hellooo Girllllss it's 7 O' Clock at WIPS.<in my best George Michael from WABC voice> Who knew years later I would fall in love with an equestrian sport called "cutting" with the National Cutting Horse Association. and it would be all about the cows.

After being teamed with Scott Evans at K 97 Charlotte...who was fired for giving away a car we did not have to give awy..<Scotty is still with WXTU Philly> Harmon and Evans became the first Morning Duo to win the CMA Personality of the Year Award we spent nearly 10 years at the powerful KPLX Dallas-Ft. Worth...Awards, like drunk country stars were everywhere in those years.. 3x Billboard Dj of the Year, CMT Dj of the Year, the American Women in Radio and Tvs choice for Major Market Community Work. We had a National Countdown .. that was in over 350 cities...and put out weekly at first...on RECORDS...my Dad has them in the garage to this day piled up.. can't even get rid of them at a garage sale...great.

I have been with KODJ Salt Lake City for 3 years now..a brand new morning team of friends put together here with lots of help from Bitboarders who showed me how not to do that important "casting" completely wrong. Its a Classic Hits format, instead of Diffie it is the Doors. This new city near the worlds great ski slopes and bicycling trails is so beautiful ..surrounded by mountains and other stations kicking my ass.. its just breathtaking..

Since working with Kidd Kraddick in 1995 I have been a part of this Bitboard Family. A lucky day in my life to have that guy as a neighbor. Did you know he could also kick my butt in tennis? Singing, funny, talented.. even Tennis.. I hate you Kidd! "The friends I have met from BFD <Hey Paulie! What are WE doing at 7:10 tomorrow?> and this service have made me look like a genius for many years!" And have shown how to take my game to a new level. It is still me, but better.  Kidd had an idea..like salespeople, managers working together to get better,  morning shows from all over the USA, no the world, working together on ideas that bring their respective stations and shows fresh, unique content. That helps bring them to their personal best.  It is now the Leading Morning Show Prep Service in the World. I am honored to be here.
